Room13 - Painted city

I am András Szoboszlay, a graduate of the animation film directing program at MOME in 1996, after which I immediately ventured into the advertising industry. Over the years, I explored many avenues within this field, often returning to animated commercials, a natural direction shaped by my animation heritage and studies.

After two decades in advertising, I had more than enough of it. I craved something tangible, where I could reconnect with materials, and see and feel creations take shape through my hands. So, I returned to my roots, picking up drawing and painting once more. I began organizing exhibitions of my artwork, gradually reconnecting with my essence and inner self. After a few active years in the city, I became known as the “painter of Budapest."

I developed my art into a unique, handcrafted gift brand, which I continue to shape, refine, and expand. I enjoy exploring creativity, letting an idea, image, or theme evolve into its final form as a product—be it a notebook, box picture, pop-up card, silk scarf, laser-cut candle holder, memory game, ex libris stamp, and more.

Today, I live what many would consider a dream: my life is my passion—drawing, painting, and creating.
