Room04 - Panota Leather Goods

The products of the Panota Leather Goods brand come to life in a small leather workshop in rural Hungary. It is a one-person business where every process, from design and modeling to cutting and sewing (whether by machine or by hand), is handled by one person. The main products are women's bags and accessories, although there are also male customers who order specific accessories. Each bag is made from carefully selected Italian cow, goat, and sheepskin. Every piece is crafted with particular care, with an emphasis on minimizing waste. Thanks to the versatile use of leather, even the cutting waste is almost entirely utilized.

My name is Dóra Orbán, and like many others, I embarked on the challenging path of true self-realization after the birth of my child. I seized the opportunity and allowed my childhood dream and creative energy to break through. I found the material I fell irrevocably in love with, and from there, there was no stopping me. I spent all my free time delving deep into the craft. It was also a form of relaxation for me. When I felt that self-learning was not enough, given that I still had many questions, I completed a school program and obtained a specialized qualification. I became a leatherworker, but my thirst for knowledge is ongoing, and I still seek innovative techniques and solutions today. Every product is made with passion and dedication, as if it were a piece of me.

I consider environmental protection very important, aiming to lessen our impact on the environment. One way to achieve this is through slow fashion, which means buying fewer but higher-quality, long-lasting products that don't need to be replaced every season but can accompany you for years if you take care of them. These products might be more expensive, but in the long run, you might spend less. Moreover, you will own a unique item that is possibly the only one in the world or one of a few, ensuring you won't see it everywhere. Additionally, buy products from fair trade, preferably made in your own country. This way, you support not only a local business but also a family, in this case, a mother and a passionate creator!
